You're My Everything by Lily G. Blunt
As I knew this was a collection of six short stories I decided to take it to bed with me and have a little look before I went to sleep....
Big mistake!!
Not only did I get so caught up in the stories, I also had to go to sleep with tears in my eyes.
This is a beautiful collection of powerful, captivating stories that are written so very well. I have read quite a few books by this author but usually steer away from short stories so having them all together was perfect for me.
Four of the stories were really good, one very short, a quick role play fantasy. Another was an insight as to how opposites really do attract, then we had an age gap/coming out story all rolled in to one. There is also quite a sad one about a young man who has loved his best friend for years, finally moving on just when his friend realises who he really wants. That one gave me goosebumps....
However the author really did save the best for first and last.
We meet Nathan, waiting patiently to celebrate his anniversary with the love of his life and thinking back over the years about all the happy times they shared.
In the last book we get to meet Jasper, he can't let go. Nathan will eternally be his love but he needs to move on.
I don't want to say too much about these two shorts but what I will say is you need a supply of tissues and possibly chocolate to help you make it through!!
I, for one wish that their story could be turned in to a full length novel. Whether I would survive reading it or not is another matter...
5 out of 5 stars.
