The Cowboy in Unit E by Kris Cook
When Ava and Luke move in to Mockingbird place, everyone welcomes them with open arms.
The people who live there are more like family than friends and anyone new is made to feel like they fit in right away.
For Trace Cotton, the new residents make him feel happy and sad at the same time.
Happy because they seem like the perfect young couple, totally in love with a baby on the way. Sad because he thinks the cowboy is totally hot and quite clearly unavailable.
Trace paints.....
Its part of the therapy he uses to get over what has happened to him in the past.
He can't show his paintings to anyone for fear that they might see the pain he is in and what he has been through.
What he doesn't realise is that the new couple have pain of their own to deal with.
When Luke makes a pass at Trace, he is totally disgusted with the cowboy, till he learns that Ava was actually married to his brother and that he is gay.
He thinks things will begin to happen between them, only to find out his reaction has driven Luke in a totally different direction.
The residents of Mockingbird place decide to intervene and help the 2 men come together.
Only time will tell if Luke can get over what happened to his brother and if Trace can finally face up to his past and show his friends who he really is.....
I love the fact that we get to find out what all the other residents have been up to and to see the new relationships that will hopefully blossom in to new books.
This is a very sweet love story with just the right amount of hotness thrown in.
4.5 out of 5 stars.
