The Captain and the Cavalry Trooper by Catherine Curzon and Eleanor Harkstead
Wow!! I can't believe how much I loved every word of this book. Normally I shy away from historical books but I am so glad I picked this up.
What a beautifully captivating story of love in the face of danger...
Captain Thorne was a man with a reputation but when the new trooper in charge of his horse Apollo appears, he finds himself instantly taken aback by the man's handsome face.
Jack has hidden his desires for men from everyone for fear of banishment. When he meets the Captain he knows that hiding the attraction is going to be difficult.
With a wonderful side cast of characters, their story isn't always an easy one as Queenie, another trooper feels slighted and takes a dislike to Jack.
With love, lust, hate and betrayal all playing their part perfectly, you have a book that will keep you hooked until the very last word.
I laughed, gasped and even shed a tear throughout reading this and that combination, for me, is a winner.
I can't wait to see where the series heads next.
5 out of 5 stars.
