Sound of Silence by Mia Kerick and Raine O'Tierney
This book was a strange mix of characters but it really worked.
First we have Renzy, silent by choice for years, he is happy to stay out of everyones way and just watch.
Then we have Seven and Morning, brother and sister who have recently moved to the area.
When Morning and Renzy meet, it's at a group session for survivors, she is attending, he is quietly drawing in the corner of the room. At this moment there is a connection made and when Seven tries to confront him, Morning sticks up for Renzy.
An unlikely friendship begins between the three although the dynamics are different for each pairing.
Seven takes it upon himself to be protector and detective and to find their demons and banish them. Whether this will bring them closer together or drive them apart, only time will tell.
It's a journey of revelations, hidden horrors, guilt and hopefully acceptance but it's one I'm glad I went along with them.
A brilliantly written, in depth story of three young people who deserve the chance to heal...
5 out of 5 stars.
