Scenes from Adelaide Road by Helena Stone
When 19 year old Lennart moves into his inherited house he finally thinks his life will change.
What he doesn't realise is that the past has a way of coming back to haunt you.....
Moving to Dublin is just what Lennart needs, an escape from the father who hated him and a chance to explore who he really is.
When he meets Aidan in a club, he can't quite work out what the dark, handsome man sees in him, after all he had been told for years he was a nobody.
Aidan can't quite believe his luck at finding the lithe, fair skinned beauty that was currently having a drink with him.
Although Lennart seemed a little shy it wouldn't stop him from pursuing him.
They soon find that they can't be without each other and due to some unfortunate circumstances, Aidan accepts the offer of lodging at Lennart's house.
They struggle through uncertainties together, Lennart has a hard time believing that he is good enough and Aidan finds it difficult convincing him he is exactly where he wants to be.
When his Father tries to take the house away from him, Lennart discovers things about the Grandfather that left it to him that explain why his Father hates him so much.
What he doesn't realise though is the lengths that his dear old Dad will go to and that it's something he has done before....
Will the past stop Lennart from having the future he deserves or will Love find a way of defeating evil.
This was a very well written, thought provoking story that shows us just how deep some prejudices can go.
I loved both the men and found them very endearing.
4.5 out of 5 stars.
