His Personal Assistant (Men of New York #1) by L.J.Harris
Hard faced, bad attitude and so closed off it's ridiculous. This is the image that the main character Luke gives off.
He has been burned in the past and blames himself for a family tragedy due to his lack of judgement. It's a mistake he won't let happen again....
All Kade wants to do is look after his mum.
Applying for the job as an assistant wasn't something he wanted to do but desperate times and all that!!
I really liked his character, young, eager and wanting to do whatever he could to ease the burdens at home.
When the two men meet you can instantly feel the heat between them but with Luke issues, wearing him down isn't going to be an easy job. Watching the dance between the two of them is so much fun to read. You know what they both want but seeing Luke struggle with his demons is hard, especially when a face from the past seems to be back to taunt him. Something isn't quite right though and only time will tell.
This is a gripping story that I didn't want to end. I read it from cover to cover without putting it down and can't wait for the rest of the series.
5 out of 5 stars.
