Hard Climate by Susan Mac Nicol
So here we are on book 8 of this fabulous series.
They have all been brilliant, the men, the stories, just the whole thing really.
This one lived up to and beyond my expectations.
Ryan owns a London nightclub where he performs sometimes with Laverne from Cross to Bare which is book 5.
Having just finished a run in a show, all he wants is to get back to his club and to a normal life.
Shame his 'boyfriend' of two years doesn't feel the same way.
It's been a while since he last saw Mango, they had shared a night of fun and all he was left with was a note and a promise to keep in touch.
Since then he hasn't heard from him.
Mango lives his life on all sorts of crusades, trying to help out where he can, its just a shame that this leaves little time for a proper relationship.
After the things he went through as a child he finds it difficult to commit to loving someone.
When he eventually catches up with Ryan and realises he may have blown his one chance of happiness, he knows he needs to make some serious changes.
For Ryan, he is willing to give it all up and make plans for the future.
But Ryan is hiding a painful secret of his own, will there even be a future or have they left it too late?
This book is full of passion, lust, longing and some seriously hot sex but above all it's the story that makes it work.
There were some heartbreaking scenes that made me feel the love between the two men.
It was an emotional rollercoaster of a read and a very worthy addition to the series.
5 out of 5 stars.
