After the Snap by Peyton Miller
As a debut novel, this is seriously impressive.
The style of writing, the storyline and the charachters are all spot on.
I love to read new authors and Peyton Miller has just shown me why.
Seth was a ball player, young, gay and inexperienced.
He had fooled around with girls but what he really wanted was the feel of a hard male body against him.
His coach, for some reason didn't seem to like him but one day after staying late for extra practice, his coach came on to him, seduced him in to thinking it was what he wanted and took his virginity.
What followed was a lengthy on/off relationship that was only ever really one sided.
His coach insisted he wasn't with his wife anymore but that they had to keep it a secret or it could affect his chances of getting picked in the draft.
Colby had been with Neil for ages, they had lived together for a year when he found out Neil was sleeping around.
Not content with random men, he even had sex with the neighbour but insisted he was happy with it all and Colby should be too!!!!
When Seth hit the big time he grew fed up of waiting for Channing to commit and decided to call it a day.
While in a gay bar he is approached by the newly single Colby and the two men decide to have a bit of no strings fun.
Neither of them want a relationship and so Seth decides to keep his identity secret, as Colby isn't in to sports this doesn't seem to be a problem.
What follows however is something neither man expected....
Slowly they begin to rely on each other and their feelings grow.
Accepting the fact that Seth has to hide for some reason isn't a problem, Colby knows how difficult it is to come out in some jobs.
He never expected to see his boyfriend on TV though.
When unwanted attention from the past threatens to ruin their future, only the love they have for each other will help them get through it.
I loved this book and can't wait to read whatever the author brings out next.
4.5 out of 5 stars.
